Deer River Township is seeking quotes for the construction of an attached canopy over the front paved sidewalk at the Deer River Township Hall, located at 41183 County Road 19, Deer River, MN. This project is part of a grant application process and will only proceed if grant funding is awarded.

Project Scope & Specifications

• Canopy Size: Approximately 31’10” × 20’, covering the full length of the existing front sidewalk.

• Roof Structure:

  • Roof pitch must match the existing Township Hall roof.

  • Asphalt shingles matching the existing building.

• Support Structure:

  • Treated wood posts.

  • Open beam / exposed wood ceiling construction.

• Construction Details:

  • Wood interior finish with open beams acceptable.

  • Minimum clearance height: 9 feet.

  • Frost-depth concrete footings required.

  • Must meet all Minnesota snow load and wind load requirements.

• Additional Features:

  • Gutters and downspouts.

  • Basic outdoor-rated lighting installed under the canopy.

• Timeline:

  • Work is anticipated to be completed in 2026, pending grant approval.

Insurance Requirements: A Certificate of Workers’ Compensation Insurance and Contractor Liability Insurance with minimum coverage of $1.5 million must be included with the quote.
